The 2011 Action Figure Nativity Contest is HERE!

Welcome one and all to the 2011 Action Figure Nativity Contest!

This is the first year I'm hosting an Action Figure Nativity contest and the call out to my dork horde brethren did not go unheard, with so many of you stepping up and really delivering some incredible, zany, original, brilliant and all-around awesome nativity scenes made up entirely of toys and action figures.

Like I said, this is a contest, and the winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd places) will be determined by the readers via the little poll on the right-hand side of the blog. Just click the button next to the name of your favorite and let your geek voice be heard! Voting ends on Dec. 26th at midnight and the winners will be announced later that day (although the results will be obvious, just look at the poll). Prizes will be mailed out shortly thereafter, once I get everyone's addresses.

I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of your who participated! Have a Merry Christmas and good luck in the contest!

Now, without further ado, here are your 2011 Action Figure Nativity entires...

And finally, my 2011 Action Figure Nativity! Although I'm not eligible for the contest, I just had to make one of my own (this being the 3rd year in a row that I've made one, thus becoming a personal tradition for me), and share it with you all.

As you can see, this year the baby Jesus is being played by my favorite yellow Lego spaceman, Joseph and Mary are played by Indy and Marion, the shepherds (all white-bearded chaps) are Obi-Wan Kenobi, Uncle Jesse and that wizard dude from Dungeons & Dragons, the three wise men are Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (with his gift of a football, natch), Frankenstein's monster (with a copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards!) and X-ray Man (with his gift of a giant slab of meat), and the animals of the scene being played by Snoopy, Woodstock, Garfield and, in a sense, Pookie.

Again, thanks to all of you who sent in pics and thanks in advance to all of you who take the time to vote for your favorite! Good luck to you all and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
